Terms of service

Plain-English terms for a free tool: what ReadMyBrowser is, what it is not, and what to expect from using it.

Last updated: 8 July 2026

Acceptance of these terms

By using ReadMyBrowser, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. We may update these terms as the site changes, and the date above will change when we do.

What the site is

ReadMyBrowser is a free, browser-based reference tool that shows you the signals your own browser exposes, such as your user agent, screen, timezone, IP address and similar values. There are no accounts, no sign-up and no charge to use it. Detection happens in your browser as described in the privacy policy.

Accuracy of the information shown

Values shown are read directly from your browser and, where relevant (such as IP-based location or the fingerprint entropy estimate), presented as approximations rather than guarantees. Browsers change what they expose over time, so a value that was accurate in one browser version may be blurred or unavailable in another. The site is provided for informational purposes and should not be treated as a definitive source for legal, security or compliance decisions.

Acceptable use

Use the site, the embeddable widget and the free API for their intended purpose: checking and sharing what a browser exposes. Please do not attempt to disrupt the service, scrape it at a volume that degrades it for other users, or use it to build anything unlawful or harmful.

Third-party services and advertising

Some features rely on third-party services, such as OpenStreetMap Nominatim for reverse geocoding, described in the privacy policy. The site may also show ads served by third-party advertising networks to help cover hosting costs. Those networks operate under their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for the content of third-party ads or the sites they link to.

No warranty

The site is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do our best to keep it accurate and available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access or that every detected value will be error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, ReadMyBrowser is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the site, the widget or the API.

Changes to the service

Features may be added, changed or removed over time, including the introduction of advertising or analytics as described in the privacy policy. We will keep these terms updated to reflect meaningful changes.
